My love for human movement, emotion, and connection to nature fuels my art. I’ve always felt like nature deserves my undivided attention, from the unbelievable softness of moss, to the vastness of a night sky, and the precise balance of endings and beginnings. Creating harmony from seemingly contrasting styles or mediums is how I chose to mirror the dualities of life in my work.
I want to bring a sense of awareness to the relationship we as humans share with the variety of life forms around us. From charcoal drawings, to mixed media paintings and prints, I hope to provoke this appreciation for the intricacies of life that continue around us.

“Pick Your Brain” was originally drawn using charcoal pencil and walnut ink. To give this drawing an uneasy feeling at first glance, ink and charcoal powder were used initially to distress the paper. A lighter and brighter technique of drawing brings attention to the focal point of the piece. A blend of soft and strong to represent the common experience of being pulled by too many opinions, responsibilities, and expectations.
